Welcome to Cove

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Cove, a voice-based AI wellness companion operated by Cove Support, Inc. ("Cove," "we," "our"). By using Cove, you agree to these Terms.

We've written these to be clear and fair. If something doesn't make sense, email us at [email protected].

What Cove Is (and Isn't)

Cove is an AI-powered voice companion that provides emotional support, helps you practice therapeutic techniques, and tracks your wellness between therapy sessions.

Cove is not:

• A licensed therapist, counselor, psychologist, or medical provider
• A substitute for professional mental health treatment
• A crisis intervention service
• A medical device

Cove's responses are for informational and supportive purposes only. They do not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical decisions.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Cove. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

Your Account

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
• You agree to provide accurate information (except where anonymity is offered)
• You may not share your account with others
• You are responsible for all activity under your account

Subscriptions & Billing

Free Trial

All plans include a 7-day free trial. You can cancel at any time during the trial without being charged.

Billing

• Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually, depending on your selection
• Payments are processed securely through Stripe
• Annual subscriptions are billed as a single payment at the start of the billing period

Cancellation

• You can cancel your subscription at any time
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period
• You retain access to Cove until your paid period ends
• We do not offer prorated refunds for partial months

Refunds

If you believe you've been charged in error, contact us within 30 days at [email protected] and we'll make it right.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use Cove for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, hack, or exploit Cove's systems
• Use Cove to harm, harass, or threaten others
• Record Cove calls and redistribute them publicly
• Misrepresent Cove as a licensed therapist or medical service
• Share your account credentials with others

Crisis Situations

Cove is not a crisis service. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency:

• Call 911 (or your local emergency number)
• Call the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988)
• Text HOME to 741741 (Crisis Text Line)

Cove includes automated crisis detection. If Cove detects crisis-level distress, it will provide emergency resources and may, with your prior consent, notify your therapist.

Therapist Integration

If you choose to enable therapist integration:

• You explicitly control what is shared
• Cove shares summaries and themes — never full transcripts
• You can revoke therapist access at any time
• Cove is not responsible for how your therapist uses shared information

Intellectual Property

Cove and its technology, design, and content are owned by Cove Support, Inc. Your conversations belong to you. We claim no ownership over your words.

Limitation of Liability

Cove is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• We make no warranties about the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of Cove's responses
• We are not liable for any decisions you make based on interactions with Cove
• Our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months preceding any claim

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes at least 30 days in advance via email or during a Cove call. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

Termination

You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles.
